Here’s a little Valentine’s treat for the Mamas out there! Kids give out candy and stickers, shouldn’t moms trade grown up treats with their friends?! Liiiiiiiike…. WINE GUMMIES??
I actually tested this recipe for the first time when one of my long-time friends and fellow mama, Christine, was visiting from Nebraska. She told me a couple weeks ago that she was having a wine tasting, and it made me think of these right away. We were so surprised with how easy these were to make… as long as you have the ingredients, they come together in a snap! Just make sure you keep them up and away from little hands (they might confuse them with the more classic version of the treat!)
To make these little cuties you will need wine, sugar, powdered gelatin, and a gummy bear mold.
You can use whatever wine you have on hand, just know that a super sweet wine will be even sweeter in gummy bear form because of the added sugar! Whichever wine you choose, add 1/2 cup to a saucepan and whisk in 1/4 cup sugar and 1 1/2 tablespoons (3 packets) unflavored powdered gelatin. Whisk until your sugar and gelatin have dissolved (about 2 minutes). Be sure to keep your candy thermometer handy… if you want to keep these treats nice and boozy the temp has to stay below 90 degrees.
Have your gummy bear mold ready to go on a cookie sheet for easy transfer to
the fridge. The mold I got came with a dropper, which made it really easy to fill each tiny bear quickly. You can get that set HERE. If you don’t have a dropper, just use something that has a pour spout to make it easy on yourself.
Work quickly to fill each bear in your mold to the top. Then get your bears to the fridge to chill for 2 hours.
Once they’re completely set, they pop out of the silicone molds really easily. This recipe makes a small batch, so we made a second batch with a different wine. We put a drop of pink food coloring in with our sweet white wine batch just for presentation!
If you have any left (which isn’t very likely) make sure you store them in the fridge.
Mama's Wine Gummy Bears

- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 3 Packets Unflavored Powdered Gelatin
Combine ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat and whisk for 2 minutes, or until gelatin and sugar are dissolved.
Set gummy bear mold on a cookie sheet. Use a dropper to fill the mold and transfer to the fridge. Let chill for 2 hours or until set.
Remove bears from mold and enjoy! Leftovers should be kept in the fridge (and out of reach of tiny hands!)
Hope you enjoy!
Mama (Hunter sat this one out because… wine!)
